IEST
ASHRAE Technical Committee 9.11
TC 9.11 is concerned with air conditioning systems for cleanrooms and spaces, including process, product and facility air conditioning and related process ventilation for Research and Development, manufacturing, assembly, test and clean medical areas. This includes electronic, microelectronic, pharmaceutical and aerospace facilities and operating rooms.
ISO
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is the world's largest developer of standards. Their activities in the cleanrooms arena are described at this link.

Consortium for Energy Efficient Thermal Energy Management
To address research challenges of the intermediate and long term nature associated with thermal and energy management of electronics, the Consortium for Energy Efficient Thermal Management (CEETHERM) was initiated in 2002. The consortium maintains strong affiliation to the Packaging Research Center (PRC) at Georgia Tech and Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (CEEE) at the University of Maryland, focusing on pre-competitive r research topics of medium and long-range interest as identified in discussion with the members.
Critical Facilities Roundtable
The Critical Facilities Round Table is a non-profit organization dedicated to the success of owners and operators of data centers and similar critical facilities. CFR's mission is to provide a forum where members can keep abreast of current technologies and ideas. And, our purpose is to have an impact on the way that the critical facilities industry is managed and regulated.
DOE Save Energy Now program
DOE’s Save Energy Now data center websites where you can sign up to stay up to date on new developments. More DOE data center information here.
Efficiency of Power Supplies in the Active Mode
This Web site was created by EPRI PEAC Corporation and Ecos Consulting to initiate a global dialogue about energy efficient power supplies. The site's focus is particularly on the issue of energy consumption in the active or "on" mode of product operation. Nearly 75% of all the energy used by power supplies occurs in active mode.
EPA’s Energy Star website relating to data centers
EPA is working with all interested parties to identify ways in which energy efficiency can be measured, documented, and implemented in data centers and the equipment they house, especially servers. Provided below are EPA's current initiatives in this area: More information here on ratings for servers
The Green Grid
The Green Grid is an association of information technology professionals seeking to lower the overall consumption of power in datacenters around the globe. The site provides white papers and other reference on data center design and operation.

RMI Charette
On 2-5 February 2003, Rocky Mountain Institute convened an innovative whole-system design charrette (Data Center Charrette) to challenge the current model for data centers and develop a groundbreaking data center design—a clean-sheet model with no compromises. They brought together about ninety high-level, broad-thinking, technically deep industry experts (including LBNL) with strategic visions in engineering, computer design, energy, data management, business, real estate, and facilities design to consider the challenge of data center energy consumption. The goal was to leapfrog past incremental and individual efficiency improvements to advanced whole-systems design models—models that ultimately cost less to build, work better, and save electricity (or are even net generators of electricity).
Self-paced training and design guidance resource from LBNL
This website will give you the tools and information to capture cost-effective savings opportunities to the design of new data centers or to retrofitting existing ones.
System Server Infrastructure
The goal of the SSI initiative is to deliver a set of specifications covering common server hardware elements (currently power supplies and electronics bays) to lay the groundwork for future growth in the server market.
Uptime Institute
Uptime Institute publishes white papers and other reference on data center design and operation.
